First Impressions – First impressions of Trapeze Ft. Lauderdale? Let’s just say “Florida strip mall” through and through. Think check cashing store, liquor store, pawn shop—nothing fancy. So, it’s a bit puzzling why there are dozens of valet parking signs. And yes, we got towed. Do go to the liquor store next door and get some cheap liquor for your BYOB – and some cash from their ATM for tipping the bartenders!
Pro Tip: Avoid parking to the left of the club in front of the check-cashing store. The right side offers free parking, but hey, it might be worth the $20 valet fee—especially in a strip mall.

Inside Tour – Inside the club, we registered on computer kiosks. Little clunky and time-consuming, and they ask for a TON of personal information. After paying the steep 2-month membership fee and the entry fee, we finally entered.
WOW—this place was packed and buzzing! Trapeze has that classic Florida nightlife vibe—dimly lit, a massive sunken dance floor, and a solid music scene. Well-dressed South Floridians, ages 30s to 60s, bring that Latin flair, with bar-top seating and low white benches lining the walls for mingling and people-watching. The place was packed, especially on couples-only Saturday night, with a good mix of ages, though the crowd leaned older but definitely not “unsexy.” After dropping our drinks at the bar, we hit the dance floor, where the energy was electric, and everyone was vibing to the loud music.
The dance floor is surrounded by bar-top seating, and along the walls, low white benches and tables make it easy to mingle, people-watch, and get into whatever shenanigans you’re in the mood for.
“WOW—this place was packed and buzzing!“
Bar – Okay, let’s talk bars—because what’s a night out without a little drink action, right? There are 2 bars in the DJ/dance area, and on busy nights, both are open, making sure you’re never thirsty. But if you’re thinking of coming on a Sunday? (DON’T GO ON A SUNDAY!), only one bar is left open. The bartenders? Total eye candy—well-dressed, fast, and efficient, getting your drink to you without a fuss (and no, Kat did NOT hit on them—shocking, I know!). And if you’re feeling extra social, there’s another bar right when you walk into the playroom area. Couples and singles are lounging in towels, drink in hand, so you can easily grab a drink while you mingle or just enjoy the vibe.
DJ – The DJ at Trapeze? Total winner. From the moment you step behind the foyer door, the music hits you—loud, bumping, and absolutely impossible to ignore. It’s got that perfect danceable beat, with a heavy Latin flair that gets everyone moving. And let’s just say, the stripper pole in the center? Oh, Leo may or may not have shown off his Magic Mike moves during the Father’s Day Dad Bod contest. But honestly, no complaints about the DJ or the music—it’s the kind of vibe that keeps you on your feet all night, feeling like you’re part of something bigger.
“Remember!! Swipe right for couples. Swipe left for singles.”
Playrooms – We decided to head to the back into the cramped locker room. The quicker you get undressed, the quicker you’re out of there, since you don’t get a key to your locker. Instead, the locker room attendant (who was speedy) opens it for you. To the left, you’ve got the single males area, and to the right, the couples’ side. Both areas feature three private rooms, with the middle room divided by a giant window.
The play area is kind of a loose maze of raised beds and leather couches—very laid-back. Mirrors on the ceiling, different lighting setups in the rooms, and just that perfect mix of energy that kept the night going. There are a few private rooms, but those fill up fast, and as it gets busier, you just find a spot, throw down your towel, and join in on the action while 20-40 other couples do the same. After midnight, it’s packed, and people are definitely waiting for a spot. Between rounds, we’d make our way back and forth between the play area and the dance floor.
Vibe Check – It’s mostly an older crowd, with very few people in their 20s and just a smattering in their 30s. The 40-60 age range is definitely the bulk. It was eye-opening how many hot women in their 30s/early 40s were paired with men who could easily be their dads—like, 90% of the couples fit that mold. I’m guessing it’s a bunch of rich South Florida guys with their arm candy. The crowd was largely Hispanic, so I kind of stuck out with my blond hair.
The vibe is much more grabby here than at other places especially on a Friday singles night. Your voice is your best friend (No!). We also noticed many single dudes wearing a couples blue wristband roaming around unpartnered, claiming to be part of a couple but didn’t have their girl with them. Say what?! Apparently, the couples’ area isn’t always couples-only, which is definitely something to keep in mind. Buyer beware!
“Yes it’s our actual towing violation. DOH!”
Would we go back? – Yes, if we’re in South Florida on a Saturday, we’d go back. Despite the hefty price tag and the membership fee being a straight-up money grab, they definitely know how to bring in the masses—and we all know that busier is always better at a swinger club. It’s something a lot of clubs struggle with. Friday night? Probably not, unless we’re in the mood to be on high alert. The single guy vibe on Fridays is a little more aggressive and “DTF” than we’ve seen at other places. As for Sundays? NEVER GO ON A SUNDAY! Trust us on that one.
***PRO TIP – Never go on a Sunday and don’t get your car towed! Ask us how we know… *sigh*
